My car needed a new battery. I found that out when my battery went dead at teh post office. I called Bob's Towing and Repair (from yellow pages), as I am new to the area. Bob's Repair came about 1/2 mile to where my car was and jump started it for me. I followed hiom back to his shop where he installed a new battery. This took approxiamatelt 15 minutes. My final charges were as follows: $100.00 for the battery....$60.00 for the jump start...$40.00 for labor. Total with taxes 204.00 for a jump start and a battery 5 blocks away. I am 54 years old and my father is 83. Neither one of us in our lifetime ever had to pay for a labor charge for installing a battery. It was their slow time of year, and had to sting somebody for extra cash. I reported this to the BBB and am awaiting a report and resolution to this. Outrageous!
